Budding photographers are urged to get creative for a special calendar that is being produced to highlight the beauty and history of the Clwydian Range and Llantysilio Mountain.

The competition has been arranged by the Heather and Hillforts project, which was set up to protect the heather moorlands and hillforts through education and conservation activities. The overall project received almost £2 million in Heritage Lottery Fund monies.

Participants are asked to take a photograph of any feature or landscape in either the Clwydian Range or Llantysilio Mountain. The winning photograph will be featured in the 2010 Heather and Hillforts calendar with full credit.

The competition is open to anyone of any age and the deadline for submissions is Monday, July 13.

Photographs (printed or provided digitally on a disk) should be sent to: Get Clicking, Heather and Hillforts, Loggerheads Country Park, Loggerheads, Mold, CH7 5LH. Participants should also provide their name, address and contact number with their entry.

The winner will be announced at the Denbighshire and Flintshire Show at the joint Denbighshire and Flintshire County Council pavilion on Thursday, August 20th. Runners-up will be contacted prior to the event.
